Taking ideas/suggestions for gameplay, but here's a rough outline :

Depending on number of people, you can have multiple Splinter Cells.

Randomly choose one player to be the Splinter Cell operative - all other players will be hostiles. While the hostiles can patrol, guard, ambush, mill around, they are free to shoot on sight, whereas the SCO can also shoot, but the objective is STEALTH to accomplish the mission (assassination, intelligence gathering, sabotage, etc...whatever you want to do for the actual theme. For example, as a SCO, you need to sneak in to a satellite communications outpost, and place a wireless tap into their line so the NSA can monitor enemy communications. Once tap is placed, you must make way to extraction point for pick-up.)

Hostiles : 1 hit

SCO : 3 hits

if you want to make things interesting, have one player (as a non-shooter, and can not be shot by hostiles) act as a spotter or "satellite". They have a radio, can walk around freely and pass information on to the SCO via their implanted communications array (another radio with earbud), such as enemy locations, numbers, etc.

not to be a wet blanket, but it seems that the only reason that games like splinter cell work, is because the bad guys don't know you're there, which is not the case for airsoft...

itsahak can tell you from experience that even when they are looking for me, they can't usually find me, so it is possible...personally, I love the games we play when it's all of them against me. Anyhow, I was thinking about some more, and you could limit the areas that hostiles could be in, and how many, etc...just like in the real world, sentries are posted in a certain area, and can't venture from said post, if at all. Spread them out a little bit, and it could work for most fields.

i guess i was just thinking that it wouldn't work very well at all at ACQB... but outside would be a whole different story...

yeah, I can tell you from experience, when Bishop doesn't want to be seen, he's not seen. Which is amazing considering his size! Bishop is a BIG man!! We should have called him Ghost instead! Many a time i've turned around and found him staring at me from behind a tree, giving me the hand signal for "your #1!"

Well, this is possible. OP:PE was like this, sorta. NATO was coming, and the Russians were not supposed to know. The russians had certain trails that they could walk on, and they were suppposed to have that, "I do this everyday, nothing will ever happen." mentallity. I would give the hostiles 3 lives and the cell a infinte amount, however the mission would have to be carried out in a certain amount of time.

i agree on the time limit. Most of our games are time limited simply because that makes you have to work, move and achieve an objective instead of just hang out. We play with another local team on occasion. They are really cool guys, and great players, but they take so much time to do everything it almost drives you insane. they will take 45 minutes to just get to thier objetive, and i'm only taking about covering 100 yards or so.

LOL, not that this has ever happened on more than more occasion for SMACK. We had one game like that and I literally watched my team sit for 2h, after 1 hour and thirty, we started are own little mini game and started to shoot each other. Then somone saw the other team, so we killed them and by that time, it was time to split up the teams. Time limits are good, we let that team come out again, and put a time limit on, they turned out to be a great team! They actually play with us a lot now. And they have started playing a little more face paced like us.

Yeah, I thought of that after I posted the last time, that you guys mainly play inside, so that would be the perspective you were coming from. I think this would definitely have to be an outdoor game.

Oh, and itsahak...you're #1

Me and my friends are rather unfortunate with our finances (we're jobless >>;) so when we got airsoft rifle we got cheap entry level airsoft rifles and only half of us had these.

Splinter Cell came to me :)

I've got rules set up for this scenerio already. My friend enjoyed it heavily but I've got to tell you now it has a lot of restrictions that are pulled from the game itself so that the 'spies' and the 'mercs' are evenly matched.

If you guys are actually interested in playing a scenerio like Splinter Cell I'll go ahead and type out all of the rules, but I'd rather not if no one is interested.

I'm new here btw ^^; Aloha :P

Alright, I'll be getting on and off the computer periodically throughout the week (my computer screwed up recently so I'm forced to use public ones x.x;) so the rules will be edited quite often.

First, I'll go over the rules and then secondly I will go over the equipment, required and optional alike.

Also, these games are meant for a dark inviroment (ie. night time, lightless building, etc)

Gameplay Rules:
-The spies cannot take the mercenarie's weaponry.
-No rough physical contact
-Mercenaries cannot climb objects (unless that object be a ladder)
-Ladders cannot be moved
-Mercenaries must have guns at a low ready unless some sign of the spies has been discovered and/or suspicions are raised.
-Mercenaries must be wearing heavily tinted goggles or glasses that cover the full FOV of the wearer (I'll get back to you on the tint %)
-Any Mercenary sniper must require permission to fire upon any target.
-Mercenaries can not operate any kind of main switched (such as a fuse box or anything along those lines that affect multiple situations) but are allowed to operate trivial switches such as light switches. What is main and what is trivial is at the reff's and/or player's disgretion
-Players shot will announce their death and may not be fired upon after this annoucement.
-Spies are considered tagged/dead if shot.
-Mercenaries are tagged/knocked unconcious if a Spy is able to somehow able to touch a Mercenaries head or place two full hands upon his shoulders (reff's/player's disgretion)

splinter cell sounds like a fun game... sounds like it have the best game possible you would need a rather large indoor area, or at least an area with lots of stuff to climb on, etc... and an outdoor area to start in...

if anybody can find a place like that, id be all for it.. maybe BRASS could get access to a certain saw mill in the area... (itsahak.....)

Sounds like a pretty good scenario. Would also be fun in a smaller group. You could add a twist, that if the splinter cell kills an OPFOR, he gets to add them to his squad, then you could have an interesting little battle on your hands.
