This scenario is based on the old novel.
Teams - One Search team, one Rabbit
Objective - Serach team is to find Rabbit, Rabbit is to avoid Search team
Hits - 1, Knife Kills activated
Setup - 1 volunteer for Rabbit, Search team of 5-8
Play - The Rabbit will be given a time between 2 and 5 minutes to hide. The Search team will then enter and attempt to flush out the Rabbit. Time limit between 10 - 20 minutes.
Rabbits Objectives
-The Rabbit enters the game UNARMED!
- Elude the pursuers.
- Perform a knife kill and retrieve that persons weapon. (Rabbit may than engage the Search team with the confiscated weapon.)
Search team objectives
- To initate Search
- To secure Rabbit's position
- To eliminate Rabbit, hopefully before he secures a weapon
- To bring home entire team! (not necessary to win, but it sounds good!)
There are many variations that can be implemented, including more than one Rabbit, splitting search teams, limiting times, respawns, limiting weapons allowed in play, etc.
We used this in a woodland environment, but I think it would be better suited to CQB.

Sounds like a good game for when we're low on people.

lots of fun, but really hard to be the rabbit when u dont know the land...lol
it really makes you get a hold of your senses and stop and think... ok, im being hunted, what should i do first, how do i do it, whats my escape routes in case that doesnt work... do i hide the entire time or get a weapon... where to hide, how to secure a weapon without getting shot...etc...

being as we were outside, we limited the field to about 8 or 10 acres. We never even saw Matshark for the entire 45 minute time limit. Kids slippery as snot on an eel!!

sounds really fun but i dont know how comfortable i would be handing over my weapon to joe schmo, i mean if its someone i trust i have no problem with it, but on the off chance something happens id be furious if someone came back and said hey ur gun stopped working or even worse
the rabbit would have to be someone that people would feel comfortable handing a $300+ AEG to
and this also adds the which gun do i want factor, the p90 thats light and compact or the upped saw that spits bbs like nobodys business?
the book kicks ass

You don't have to hand your weapon off. The rabbit just goes into the scenerio unarmed--he can leave his weapon where he wants. In the car if they prefer, just as long as they don't have it during the scenerio!
i think he was referring to when the rabbit kills someone with the knife, and takes said person's gun...

Ya, thats the only problem, now if everyone was playing with springers, and he had a knife, thats a completely different story.

ya if he knifes someone doesnt it say he can take their weapon??

That how BRASS plays it. But we play mostly amongst ourselves with this one, so its a non issue. Also, as we play woodland mostly, is VERY hard to get a knife kill. You guys at ACQB may want to do something like let the Rabbit take his pistol and once he's performed a knife kill then he can use the pistol.

sounds like fun if we everyone is vets and trusts the rabbit..
i think this would be pretty sweet to do as a just acme game... we all pretty much know and trust each other, and even have lent guns in other situations out to one another (case and point: last game of last friday...)
PS. Jason, thanks again for the use of your battery. You are my hero for giving me the opportunity to run with my K for pretty much the whole night...

hey itsahak,
i was just wondering if you got the title of the game from a short story about a big game hunter that decides that he wants to hunt humans. i read the story about a year ago and it sounds erily familiar

Yes I did!! It was a short story I read as a kid! (No jokes Matshark!). It involved a sailor shipwrecked on an island. He is the sole survivor of his ship, and on the island runs into a mansion/castle (don't remember wich). The owner feeds him, treats him to stories and every available comfort. Then in the morning informs him that he (the owner) is a hunter and wants to hunt The Most Dangerous Game, a person. The rest of the story is about the sailors escapades around the island. It was a great story, and has been redone in Hollywood several times, most notably Jean Claude Van Damme's Hard Target and Ice T's Surviving the Game.
id deff volunteer to be the rabbit if im there and we decide to play

If you have a trustable Rabbit then they could agree to keep their gun strapped to their back with a sling until they do a knife kill. That would solve the problem with using someone else's gun, but you wouldn't be able to use a newb because they might get frustrated and decide to shoot people anyway.

I was thinking and if we allow the rabbit to be packing a pistol and only use it after getting a knife kill it would be kinda cool. Hell I'd do it just for good old fun..
While I think the game would be fun, if we did an Acme only, the rabbit would get slaughtered every time, since we all know the field pretty well. It would work well with one vet against newbies, and probably would also work since the newbs have rental guns, which nobody would really worry about giving up to the rabbit when they're killed.
If we do decide to do Acme only, perhaps give the rabbit a spring pistol?

Agreed. This would be a good game on Sat when the TYV is running free.

the other thing which makes the game difficult is the amount of good thick cover/lack thereof... if there is a place that is suitable for a knife kill, good, if not... good luck to the rabbit...lol (jumping out of trees anyone? - i know i dont feel like risking a broken ankle just for a game...lol)

Sniper,
We also do this as a Downed Pilot scenario. The main difference is the Downed Pilot gets a pistol. We use a cheap EBB so the fps and range is pretty low, but it keeps your focus and attention up.

what if instead of taking the victim's weapon, he can go in with his weapon but he cannot use it until he gets at least 1 knife kill? That way, no one will have to worry about having to hand over their gun to john doe and john doe will have the gun hes most comfortable with (a small comfort when youre engaging 7 other guys).
