Let's throw out ideas for a big game. This forum has excelled at creating games for CQB. I'm sure we can do it for large scale games, for outdoors. I've read a ton of descriptions from other sites and they all lack one thing, creativity. The background stories look ok but they seem a little dry. Anyway I'm opening the floor to you guys for ideas. I don't see it as impossible to actually try to run what ever we come up with somewhere in Northern VA (sorry itsahak) or Richmond. That do you guys think? I'll be posting my ideas shortly.

Since I'm a geek and not a soldier, most of the ideas that come to mind for big scenarios center around movies I've seen. For example, you could do an expanded Alien/Marine/Predator game that might last for a couple of hours.
You would probably need to have a field that included some indoor locations to make this fun.
You have a group of marines who land somewhere on the edge of the field. Their goal is to locate and rescue other humans that are hidden somewhere on the field, and extract them to some location designated as their dropship. These human captives would be dummies, not actual people, since it would be really boring to just sit around all day. :)
The aliens stick with semi-auto, and their job is to capture and convert the marines and predators. I see this working like the new "meat wagon" game we played the other night. When a marine get's hit by an alien, they sit until they are either brought back by their medic or an alien escorts them to the "hive." After a couple minutes in the hive, they come out as aliens. Since the game could go on for awhile, I would limit the amount of "sitting" time to something like 5 minutes. After which they can go back to the marine spawn point and come back out, simulating reinforcements. Aliens would be 1 hit, with infinite respawn from the hive.
A couple players would be predators. It would be ideal if these players had sniper rifles, to better simulate the predators ability to eliminate targets at a distance. Predators would have 3 hits, but would still be subject to alien conversion after their 3rd hit. You could even make it so that predators converted to aliens would have more hits, since they would presumably be more badass. If a predator is hit and doesn't get converted, they can respawn at some designated location.
The game ends when either all the marines and predators have been converted, or the marines successfully rescue all the captives.
This game can easily scale based on the size of the field and the number of people you have. For example, multiple marine squads, more aliens/predators, and more captives to rescue.
One interesting twist would be allowing the aliens to re-capture human dummies from the marine drop-ship. This would force the marines to defend that area, and better simulate the sneaky alien threat. The predators could even help the aliens in this regard by camping the spawn point and keeping the defending marines pinned down and occupied.
It's unlikely that this scenario would take call day, but you could play it a couple different times, or in conjunction with other long scenarios.
One of the things I like about this scenario is that it keeps everyone active for the whole time. No one gets stuck sitting around as a prisoner or anything like that.
That's all I have for now. I'll see what else I can come up with.

that's.....AWSOME!!! lol
you even got the predalien!!!!
one thing that would even be more rediculous would be to limit the aliens to pistols and smgs (on semi of course) if you wanted to have a lot of aliens compared to marines.
OOOO, while posting this, I had an idea, better post it!!

RAID
So this scenario that would require some sort of urban field with atleast 1 to 3 buildings and an area that could be designated as an airstrip.
Set up:
Two teams: DEA and Cartel
DEA: Primary objective: detain or eliminate all cartel members. Secondary Objective: (given enough space or rooms) secure cocain stores, secure runway, detain leader of cartel?
Cartel: Primary objective: stay alive by:killing dea, or escaping through runway.
I think this scenario clould be fleshed out to the extreme and maybe be an !!!awsome!!!! op. Trouble is finding a place with a building or two, and a field that could be called an airstrip. I bet splatbros could work?
The greatest thing would be that it's really easy to look dea or be a cartel guy!

Glad you like my Alien/Marine/Predator game. I don't see any reason why we couldn't play this game at ACQB. It's kind of a Alien/Black Hawk Down mashup.
I like your DEA/Cartel scenario. Simple idea with enough complexity to keep it interesting and varied. I like the idea that the DEA has to capture the Cartel leader in addition to their other objectives.

Limiting the aliens to pistols might be a good idea. It forces them to have to get closer, making it a bit more realistic. To make it fair, you might want to give them 2 hits, or perhaps allow them to have a medic as well. You know, like an alien that comes up an drips crap on them to bring them back. :)

A few pointers for Big Games.
1 - All scenarios actually fit into just a few catogories. Force on Force, Object Retrieval, Escape and Evade, Hostage Rescue, and Dignitary Protection. and technically HR and DP are just variations of F on F. There may be one or two more, but those are the basic ones
2 - The best scenarios are the ones where each team is breifed individually. Everyone knows the basic scenario, but the specifics as to each teams mission, objectives, and restrictions are only known to the specific team. this includes radio channels, insertion points, base camps, weapon restricions, etc. Of course everyone knows the hit/out/re-spawn/medic rules. This keeps it real fun and interesting!
3 - Safe zones!!! Everyone must know where they are and they must be well marked. You don't want someone spraining an ankle and being told, "Go stand by the big oak." Especially if your in an oak forest!! This will keep people who may have a slight injury, are tired or just need a break a place to go where they won't be ambushed.
4 - Logistics - Make sure the people who are normally in the area are aware of whats going on! Make sure your aware of what normally goes on in the area. We use what's called a Blindman Call. If at anytime a bystander wanders into our game (it's happened before with someone fishing in the pond), the Blindman Call goes over the radio. All teams and players immediately stand down where they are, all firefights are ended and parties retreat, And unarmed member approaches and informs the bystander of what they have wandered into and politely informs them that for their own safety they should quicly vacate the premises. Everyone is informed over the radio of thier intended directions of exit. Its never a bad idea to escort them out either. Afte they are clear, the resume call is given.
you should also know the local medic unit. Towns, and city's may have a fire department, while most counties have a volunteer rescue squad. FD's usually have a faster response time, but a VRS member is there because they care.
Its also never a bad idea to let the local Law Enforcement know what is going on.
I'm sure there's more, but this is long enough already!!

plant bomb (counter-strike) style
how bout the terriost team stick with the bomb and if the person holding it holds it for over (any time limit) it detonates
however if the person drops the bomb or is killed the timing starts over and a new person picks up the bomb.
automatic respawn?
but let's say a terriost gets cornered by 5 counter terriosts and they kill him..
they take the bomb and keep it for a (any time limit)
or you go counter-strike style and terriosts have to plant it and ct's have to defuse it
have a kit and you defuse (any time limit) faster
with no kit you defuse slower but you defuse.
if you shoot or reload while defusing you must start over.
so for this game it's a stick with your team or you lose game
