I'm about jump into the world of Li Poly batteries. Here's the dilemma, of the dozen plus AEGs I own, half of them are stock TM. The two types of Li Poly battery packs out there are 11.1v and 7.4v. I really don’t want to build a bb hose and the time and money to upgrade the ½ dozen internals to accept an 11.1v battery is prohibitive. I’m thinking with going with the 7.4v batteries.

Questions:
1. Does anyone know the current draw of a stock TM using an 8.4 Nicad/NiMH battery? This would give me a base line to calculate the current draw of a 7.4v battery. In other words, will I blow a standard 15 amp fuse?

2. Will the ROF drop with a 7.4v Li Poly battery? I know the max discharge rate for some Li Poly batteries is 46 amps. Theoretically it has the ability to handle the same and more work load as an 8.4 battery.

Broader question:
Should I just abandon switching over to Li Poly batteries and use the money to buy accessories for my AEGs? Thinking of buying a couple of ACOG and aimpoint replicas, rails, stocks, etc… In other words, fashion or function?

The 7.4 Li-Poly sustains a ROF like a smaller 9.6 or a REALLY good 8.4. Your ROF will not suffer.

As for blowing your fuzes, you should never worry about this since there is no reason what so ever for you to have on in the first place. Your wires will handle less current then your motor will....
Just take the fuze out, connect the ends and never give it a second thought...

The 7.4 Li-Poly is a good choice for keeping the ROF less then insane... Look for one in the 25amp constant 30 amp burst range... Should be all you ever need...

From what I hear and see on evike Lipoly batteries are no good for stock aegs that do not go over 350 FPS.Breaking the weak spring, internals out of alighnment and what not.

This is what they say you need to know

Things you need to know:
1) You must use li-poly chargers to recharge your battery pack.
2) Keep it fully charged. You will almost never run out of power during a normal day of skirmish, but LiPo batteries are best stored full, keep it fully charged. (The charger we sell will indicate when fully charged and stop charging automatically.)
3) There is no need to discharge a LiPo battery, never plug it into a discharger.
4) Li-poly batteries are not recommended for stock AEG: If your AEG is shooting under 350 FPS, it has a low power spring and this battery will give you SUPER cycle rate of up to 30 rounds per second. High cycle rate will result gears going out of alignment or stripping of other internal parts if you did not reinforce / shim your gearbox well.
5) All LiPo battery packs passed the manufacture quality control test and they are tested prior to shipping to you. Warranty covers 14 days of factory defect only. Warranty voids of the battery is charged with the wrong charger, abused or altered. All sales are final on battery packs. Buyer assume full responsibility for all damages related to the battery

I Messed Up 2 Ca Mp5s Stock With The Lipoly Batterys It Gives Them A Insane Rof And Its More Like A Tracer System You Can See A Constant Stream Of Bbs Coming Out But It Was Only Fun For A Couple Clips Then I Was Upgrading Internals!
