I realize there may not be a whole lot of market for this in the states because we can do the same thing with real steel (albeit at greater cost), but anybody have any interest in doing some "practical" pistol shooting competitions at ACQB?

These would be the type of deal where it's a set number of targets, a set course of fire, and then we can all compare our times and make fun of each other. More of a game than the competetive nature of CQB play. Set up some common courses around the field with targets (i.e. B-Building Challenge, 7-11 Robbery, Bank Teller Revenge, etc...), mark the target locations with colored tape to easily set them up again, and then have somebody record your time as you try to shoot all the targets as quickly as possible.

Not sure on if it would be a monthly thing on a weekday, or just futzing about between rounds during Friday play, but having a board up where we could keep track of our best times in relation to everybody else would be kinda nifty. Could even have different classes like rifle, pistol, race pistol, etc... Just friendly competition amongst the regulars without having to worry about the n00bs and what not.

It doesn't seem like it'd be that much work, just some online brainstorming as to scenarios, rules, and the like. Anybody else think this would be worth organizing, and would you partake if it was organized?

I like the idea.

I got shot down with a simular idea before when I mentioned it to Steve and Tim. Good luck

Why'd they shoot you down?

Why'd they shoot you down?

I don't truely remember but something along the lines of no interest, and it wasn't up to standards or such.

It doesn't hurt to try again.

Hmm... I can't see it being very popular with the kids that come and play, but as a side game for the vets to do between the EONS it takes to get games organized, I can see it being feasible. Scenarios should only take a minute to set up, and then under a minute per person to go through them. As long as we can keep a logbook or board of some sort for people to record their times, the staff at ACQB shouldn't really need to worry.

This really wouldn't be something we make public. More of a semi-public semi-invite only kind of deal. If you ask about it, we'll let you take a crack at the leader board, but it's not something we go out recruiting for.
