Well, Raven's been sort of keeping this music forum alive, but the skin of its teeth, so i'll go ahead and post some of my music reviews... first up:
JUDAS PRIEST:
How can you go wrong with the band that pretty much is the origin of the entire Heavy Metal look, with all the leather and metal and chains and stuff... and they're one of the first bands to have the 2 lead guitar idea... and they have the "Metal God" for a singer, who rides a motorcycle onto the stage during shows...
Their latest album, Angel of Retribution, is pretty sweet. Its got a couple of classic Priest-ish songs, such as Deal with the Devil. Also, a few slower songs, such as Worth Fighting For (probably my favorite song of the album). Also, a 13 minute epic about the Loch Ness Monster (Loch Ness, confess...)
Also, while being horrendously cheesy and supposedly all commercial and crap, I really like Turbo. Its the CD I always listen to on the way home from playing airsoft. Basically all of the songs are pretty fast paced... Personal favorites are Out in the Cold, and Parental Guidance (which have the most amazing lyrics in the history of music: "Every day you scream at me to turn the music low. But if you keep on screaming, you'll make me deaf you know")
Perhaps their weakest album is their debut, Rocka Rolla. (Also possibly called Hero Hero, depending on which version you get). This was their first (if the term debut album didn't mean antying to you), and was from when they were still a pop/rock-ish sort of band. Still, it has one of my favorite Priest songs on it (which isn't really a Priest song, since it was written and originally performed by Joan Baez), namely Diamonds and Rust.
And the guy across the hall is playing "Stand Up and Shout" by Dio.... sweet...
