I think 4 should be a minimum. 6 would be the maximum. Trying to stuff more than 6 people in a room gets uncomfortable fast, and less than 4 leaves you with too many area's uncovered.
Based on the games we play at acqb I selected 6. I think 3 or 4 would just be shy of enough to cover the areas.

Wouldnt we need to know the types of games beeing played first? I.e, will gameplay involve keeping all members of the team in one area? If so, then i'd say 4-6 would be the max as itsahak hit it on the head when he said that "Trying to stuff more than 6 people in a room gets uncomfortable fast." But if gameplay would involve spreading the field more and testing how a team can comunicate over distances, then I'd say 6-8 would do better.
Another thing to consider is how easy/hard it would be to form a team of X amount of players. Obviously a larger team would be harder to form, so perhaps smaller teams and gameplay that focuses on that is more beneficial.
But I think knowing the scenartios before hand is crucial to picking team size. It seems like we're all leaning towards a smaller sized team here, which is fine. But then again, who wants to play Jailbreak with 4 people? Camp the jail anyone???

I said 6.
ACQB doesn't really have "Room clearing" It is more acurrately described as building clearing... you sweep B building or A building etc etc etc... the only "rooms" per say are 7/11 bank etc etc etc... it only takes 1-2 to clear those...
