And Speaking of Tournaments…

I think we need to start having regular tournaments at CQB. I wasn’t able to attend the last SWAT event at CQB but I heard everyone had a blast. It sounded like a lot of work to setup with all the stuff they did to the field. Does anyone have any ideas for something that could be pitched to Steve?

I think there could be something much simpler with playing 15 minute Waypoint games. Just have a ref at each respawn point with a stopwatch. The ref starts the stopwatch each time a player is eliminated. After thirty seconds everyone in the respawn point is back in the game. Would anyone be interested in this?

I would be interested but I doubt Steve would be. His business model appears to cater more towards the fast pickup games where anybody who comes along is in the next game. Tourney play would certainly up the ante on the competition and require all of us to sharpen our blades.

If we could get enough people to agree beforehand, Steve might be willing to pick certain times of the week for tourney play. If we had, say 40 people all of whom wanted that style of play, Steve might be willing to say that for example, 10-11:30 on Saturdays is for tourney play or team play. As long as we maintain the number involved, his business model shouldnt be harmed. He already sets aside time for military and police, this is only slightly different. If necessary it could just be a once a month scheduled thing. You get the idea...
