We ran a training exercise today with live airsoft fire. You need to think of a clock. Your enemy is at the 12 your squad is at 6. I would like to hear how you all out there would asault this position. Try to keep you your squad alive. We ran several situation and actually came up with one that did work several times.

I am using a clock just to see it clearly in my head for squad placement.

One good strategy is to flank to the 3/9 position. Try and hit the OpFor from the side. That way its not an even 3 on 3, 6 on 6 etc, it becomes 3 on 1. This gives you overwhelming firepower, if coordinated correctly. It never hurts to have one or two, if you have the numbers, move to a side and lay down suppressive fire as well. You should never try to attack straight on, unless you're given no other opportunity.

BWWaaahahaha You beat me to it! here warthog, (whistles and makes grunting sound)
Nothing like a watching them unleash the GAU-8/A Gatling gun which fires 3,900 30mm rounds a minute. Plus a host of other "clearing" goodies.

They used to build that plane in western MD, literally in my parents back yard. Our neighbor was one of the engineers so I got to go sit in the cockpit of one when I was a liitle kid, what a thrill.

Yeah 6'5" a bit tall for some planes.

Well I know I contacted the right person to start off with. I say what to do, how would you take it on . Itsahak tells me his thoughts. Everyone else has their head in the clouds. Its ok if I had air support that would be my first idea. Ok guys no air support, what do you do.

Flank is the best option. Hit them from two different angles to thin their defenses out.

well if theres no air support then I supose the Back up and nuke em from orbit is also out of the question.

I'd probably have one or lay down some fire on there position just to keep there heads down while 2 others got into thre flnaking positions in preperation for the assault. then I'd flashbang em and everyone rushes in =D

Yea nuke em is a good option, however that might impose a high death rate on your squad. remember, you are not so far from them.

On a diffrent thought anyone know of any good mortar systems out there. That would deff. help in this situation.

We found a decent way to go about it with rifles and such, but other weapons would be helpful.

Ok guys this is what we found to work. Your enemy is at the 12 you are at the 6. Send one guy to the 3, one guy at the 4, and one stays at the 6. Two guys move to the 9-10 position. The guy at the 3 starts the firing. He draws the attention of the enemy. Now any smart enemy will also keep his eyes open for others trying to move in on him. This is where your other squad members come in. After you guy at the 3 engages the guy at the 4 waits then engages. The guy at the 6 waits for the guy at the 4 then he engages. This if done properly opens the door for the guys at the 9-10 position. They should not engage until all of the other members have engaged and they are in position. At this point the enemy should feel over run and either be killed off or dipurse and run. We ran this several times they never knew where we were coming from. Remember you can also run this counter clockwise or mix up your shooting cycle. Always keep them on thier toes. So what do you think. Feedback?

Roughneck,
Sounds like a good plan. the flankers flanked by flankers!

If I drew one, you'd all be going, "Has itsahak been smoking something?!" I definitly didn't get the artistic gene in the family, that went to Hammerhead.
