Grenade Rules

While we wait for some one to come up with an omni directional grenade that works, there is no reason why we can't compensate for a lack of grenades. I was reading mindgame-productions.com (a great site for the big ops) and became a little inspired. This BTW is the site where I got the idea for cutthroat-medic.

I see no reason why we can't have grenades and rules to go along with them. Airsoft is a game of honor, why not apply that to grenades? Here's my take on this idea. We get some tennis balls (I recommend these to use as a test case). There will be a limited number of grenades per team, say five per team. If a grenade is tossed into a room where there are players, they are hit. Grenades (until we see if this works) would be ineffective in hallways and if they were thrown directly at a player.

I really don't see why this won't work. But then again I've really only been thinking about this for twenty minutes. What do you guys think?

BRASS has been kicking this idea around for quite a while. The hard part comes in what happens if I'm exiting a room as you throw it in? At what point am I "safe" or "hit"? I tried a trick the gangs use where you open the tennis ball and place strike anywhere matches in it with bb's. A few drops of Elmers keeps it closed. When it hits the matches flame up and cause a mini explosion, breaking the glue and sending bb's everywhere. (The gangs use the matches and nails, glass, etc.) I couldn't get it to work very well, and I didn't like the fire aspect, as we are in the woods. I tried it without the matches and only a few of the bb's came out. As far as just a regular untouched tennis ball, its hard to determine, and could be hard to see at times. Plus now you have a tripping agent that someone could fall over. Just my .02 cents.

I dont know man.... 1 hit calling on this would be 50/50 at best, arguments about no I was behind the counter when you threw it, or if some one picks it up and throws it back before 5 seconds(3) are you dead instead of them?

I have found gentleman who takes inert grenades and converts them into functional airsoft grendes. It appers to work well. He also mentioned a $40 price tag. The only problem is it does use pyro. Which is not so easy to get. I also think there might be one more problem. Not sure I wan't to throw a real grenade at someone. I could knock them out if it hits them. However, The grenade does seem to work well from what I see. It has 360 range pull the pin and pop the spoon...timed delay....Nice range..... What do you guys think..Should I get one to try...Maybe I Could copy it in a dummy rubber grenade....

Next Idea...We know where to get stinger grenades. However this is a diffrent kind of animal. They are made of a bunch of rubber balls. Pull the pin and boom they go in all diffrent directions....Again I am not so prone to playing with these ( A lot more force) and it could get a little expensive...

I dont understand why MadBull hasnt taken one of there shower shells, bent it into a sphere shap,e coated it in rubber, and put a time delay mechanisim on it yet.......

you could take a tennis ball, cut it in half, fill it with BB's, put a little glue on there to hold it together and then when u wanna use it then just throw it real hard into a wall or onto the floor. im just brainstorming here so its not perfect but it might work.

yea but he was talking about using matches and making it sort of blow up. i gues what i was trying to say was not to use matches and just throw it really hard.

I'd love to be able to use these at Airsoft CBQ, but they're banned there. The problem is that they use a chemical reaction and a lot of people at CQB (including myself) use mesh masks. There could be issues with people getting hit by BBs and citric acid.
