SUBMACHINE GUN

A submachine gun is any firearm that is capable of full or burst automatic fire, that utilizes pistol ammunition instead of rifle ammunition. As a general rule SMG's (Submachine guns) are both smaller then rifles and larger then pistols.

SMG's in the airsoft world are used for much the same function as they are in the real steel world. That is, they are primarily used for close contact or Close Quarters Combat situations.
